The Firm-wide Data Controls Management group is seeking a Vice-President level candidate with Technology experience in managing data, data tools and data frameworks. The individual must have a background in some but not all data architecture, technology management, engineering and coding disciplines. This is a business, risk and technology facing role.

The Firm-wide Data Controls Management group is responsible for identifying and implementing mechanisms to identify data management issues and themes (e.g., Internal Audit; RCSA; MRIAs/MRAs), defining expected controls supporting sound data management by all parts of the firm that create / maintain / provide / consume data ("data control framework"), partnering with Technology and Business Control Officers to drive LOB adoption of data controls and compliance with data policy and standards, defining necessary data policy and standards refinements, and partnering with key related areas across the firm (e.g., Cyber; Data Privacy; Data Retention). This group is accountable to the firm Chief Data Office and the firm Chief Control Officer.


  • Analyze and evaluate the architecture and physical implementation of data controls and strategies across the firm in all commercial and control functions (from consumer data analytics to firm-wide initiatives such as the move to cloud, big data, etc.)
  • Engage with Technology in helping to assess and defining the Data Controls Management expectation of incorporating our standards in their Software Development Lifecycle
  • Interact with key areas related to data across the firm to ensure complementary technology agendas (e.g., Data Privacy, Cyber, Security & Entitlements, Document / Data Retention)
  • Understanding of technical approaches, tools and biases both internal and external related to management of data
  • Keep abreast of current data management trends, and emerging technologies

  • 5 years of experience in Technology experience in managing data, data tools and data frameworks
  • Background in some but not all data architecture, technology management, engineering and coding disciplines
  • Ability to understand complex technical systems and the business processes they support and synthesize the corresponding risks and controls and recommend adjustments if required
  • Strong communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership
  • Track record of collaboration and relationship building
  • Proven track record of taking ideas forward without supervision and challenging others, where appropriate
  • Proven ability to act independently with excellent decisioning skills / judgment
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and handle / prioritize multiple projects at same time
  • High level of professionalism, self-motivation, and sense of urgency
  • Bachelor's degree required
