Director, Leadership & Organizational Development - Logistics job in Reading

Position Summary:

Strengthen the leadership pipeline and support Penske Logistics business objectives with custom organization and talent development solutions.

Qualified candidates will have at least 10 years of experience in organizational and leadership development. This role will be responsible for change management and requires demonstrated past experience in enterprise-wide or corporate initiative projects, program, and presentations to leadership teams. Certifications in assessments, instructional design, group facilitation, and process improvements are preferred.

Major Responsibilities:

Leadership Development
  • Identify individual and group development needs, design and develop interventions to strengthen performance
  • Lead development programs for PL leaders
  • Provide leadership assessment and coaching support

Organization Development
  • Perform organization diagnostics at all levels of system (intrapersonal, interpersonal, group, team, function, organization, enterprise, trans-organization)
  • Facilitate new leader assimilations and new team start-ups
  • Support Organization design, job design and process optimization facilitation
  • Lead strategic planning sessions

Performance Management
  • Manage the annual performance and career management process and communications for Penske Logistics
  • Monitor the performance and development efforts of High Potential talent

Instructional Design
  • Conduct needs assessment, identify learning objectives, design learning and development solution, develop course and related resources, deliver and manage development program and evaluate its effectiveness

Succession Planning
  • Manage processes that result in accelerating the readiness of leaders for critical organizational roles. Forecast and report on insights related to the strength of the leadership


Other Projects
  • Other projects as assigned by the Director, Executive Succession and Development

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • At least 10 years of experience required in the following areas:

-Leadership development program design and delivery.

-Organization assessment and intervention design and implementation

-Process redesign and optimization

-Leadership coaching, psychological assessment interpretation and consultation

-Succession planning management, Performance management enterprise, and process management
  • Experience in the following areas is highly preferred:

-Organizational Diagnosis

-Process Consultation

-Group Facilitation

-Assessment Interpretation and Consultation

-Instructional Systems Design

-Organization Intervention Design
  • Strong Project Management skills required
  • Must be a strong communicator & must be comfortable in a public speaking environment
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities required
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% to various locations by car, plane or train overnight , as required. Travel may occasionally be short notice as dictated by business needs.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
